Iban Chief / Tuai Rumah
A Tuai Rumah is elected by the long house for his courage, strength and vision. The election is when the Dayak Iban start to move to a new site and occupy new farming area. The Tuai Rumah will be the person “matak” or “pull” or “literally lead” the people into a new land area – in those days there are many physical danger including tribal war.

Ngajat by Iban Warrior
The Gawai Dayak festival is celebrated every year on the 1st of June, at the end of the harvest season, to worship the Lord Sempulang Gana. On this day, the Ibans get together to celebrate, often visiting each other. The Iban traditional dance, the ngajat, is performed accompanied by the taboh and gendang, the Ibans' traditional music.
